Nursery & Reception | Exciting visit from Shropshire Falconry

Earlier this week, in our Nursery and Reception Class we welcomed Lisa from ‘Shropshire Falconry’. This was in response to our project ‘light and dark’ so the children could further their knowledge with first-hand experiences. Before the visit, the children created a mind map of their own ideas about owls and what they would like to find out. When Lisa came in she brought 3 owls, Bobby the Barn Owl, Chris the White-faced Owl and even a very sleepy Tawny Owl. The children were mesmerised and as wide eyed as the owls! They asked Lisa all their questions and had the opportunity to either hold an owl, feel an owl’s wing or explore the owl artefacts. The children learnt so much and are intrigued to find out more!!
