Exciting Times for Lower Heath

Lower Heath CofE Primary School and Nursery, based near Whitchurch, is looking to join the Marches Academy Trust on 1st April 2019.

Lower Heath School is a great primary school recently gaining an outstanding SIAMS report from the Church of England inspection team. By joining the Marches Academy Trust, Lower Heath will strengthen the primary expertise and continue the wonderful partnership between the schools in the Trust in all aspects of learning and particularly continuing to develop creative curriculum projects.

Joining the Trust would provide further opportunities to innovate and share best practice amongst all members of staff. For the young people it will provide an opportunity for working with other schools within the Trust on events, trips and sporting fixtures for it to be a school of choice locally.

Mrs Sarah Longville, CEO of the Marches Academy Trust, commented: “The Trustees have worked with the governors and Headteacher of Lower Heath to ensure that everyone is confident about the collaboration going forward. We believe by working together our schools are ensuring that we are developing as a strong multi-academy trust based on Achievement Through Caring. This is a wonderful opportunity for the Trust to grow in strength with a school that has so many positive attributes and, through the Trust, Lower Heath will continue to grow and shine.’

Mrs Deb Sadler, Headteacher at Lower Heath, added: “I am absolutely delighted at the prospect of joining the Marches Academy Trust as it will afford the students and staff at Lower Heath School many more exciting opportunities. The students are always at the centre of everything that we do and this ethos is shared by the Marches Academy Trust. We can build on their successes and share knowledge to provide excellent learning opportunities and experiences for our students”.

Our next step is for parents, carers, staff, students and other members of the school community to have the opportunity to comment on the proposal. We welcome everyone’s involvement in the next steps so that Lower Heath and the Marches Academy Trust develop with our communities. There will be an open meeting at Lower Heath on 16th January 2019 at 6:15pm to discuss the school joining the Trust, and all are welcome to attend to have any questions answered.

The questionnaire can be found – https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/lowerheath
